Firetruck Crayon Holder

Wasn't sure if I should put this in plushie or what... SO it is in plushies.

Foam body (11x4x3.5 inches) covered in crocheted yarn to make a toy firetruck and/or crayon holder.

Found a pattern online for a school bus and I changed it to make a firetruck. So the pattern was used as a jumping off point. For the main idea of the piece it was my idea.

Red heart yarn: red, yellow, black, white- all left overs used except for the white I did purchase a skein so I could do this and the school bus (which isn't complete yet)

For the tires- the pattern suggested to use plastic canvas circles. I used a plastic folder in which I cut into 3 inch circles.

As Club Admin of =dAKnitters there is an upcoming contest. "Knitting or Crocheting on a Budget" The set budget for the fiber art is $9.00 (other admins of the club are welcome to enter the contest)

I will NOT be entering the contest but this piece and the school bus will be examples of what can be done on a small budget. Below is the break down of cost of the materials.

Red, black, yellow yarns: used left over yarn that was purchased some time ago
White yarn: one skein purchased on sale for $2.00
Foam body: foam purchased at craft store- block for $11.00
For the Firetruck the piece used cost: $2.75 (the main block was cut to make 4 individual projects)
Plastic folder: free- was from a former coworker
Crayons: $0.40 a pack of 24 crayons
